Whiskey and Donuts

My mom arrived December 20th and we spent the first few days shopping for food. Literally it seemed like countless hours and days going to one grocery store after another finding all the ingredients we needed (hollandaise, etc.) for our Christmas dinner and breakfast. During her quick visit (she left the 26th) we were still able to squeeze in some time to Saguaro National Park, the Children's Museum and even volunteered while she was in town.

My favorite part of our Christmas fun? BATCH (hence the title). It is an awesome restaurant in downtown Tucson. Believe it or not it was pouring in Tucson on Christmas Eve and we braved the rain and wind and headed for Batch. It has to be good if they specialize in whiskey, donuts and grilled cheese sandwiches. I've got one word for it: YUM! We had the whole restaurant to ourselves on Christmas Eve and it was unforgettable.

The drinks, the food and the atmosphere. It couldn't have been better. My personal favorite? The Knuckle & Claw: a lobster grilled cheese with blah blah and blah. Check out the menu and the pictures. Please also note the Boozy Cereals. Say whaaaat?! A few more drinks in me and I would've absolutely had the Monkey Puffs.

Awesome light fixtures!
A fitting red and green cocktail: The Arizona Old Fashioned.
del bac Whiskey, prickly pear syrup, local bitters and candied jalapeno
It'll make you get hair on your chest for sure!

Dessert? Yes, please!
E was the photographer all night. I couldn't find a pic with him in it!
We were all able to head back to the RV fat and happy to open Christmas Eve gifts. To make this year extra special and a twist on the norm we got the kids one joint gift to open in addition to their traditional Christmas Eve pjs. Another present?! Always a bonus in their eyes. It was a box full of peppermint hot cocoa, a couple Christmas movies, the 12 Days of Christmas in Arizona children's book and a Lego City truck and travel trailer. It was a perfect way to end our day: movies, hot cocoa, lego building and stories.

Cheers to making memories!

    1. YES it is phenomenal! It helped that we had the place to ourselves. It felt kinda fancy like we'd booked it just for us, but nonetheless incredible.
