Lake Tahoe

We went to South Tahoe for our day trip. We weren't super interested in spending time in the place itself-- it was a ski town with lots of areas to eat and shop. Not our thing, really. I found Sand Harbor, a state park and we decided to head that way which would also give us a different route back to Reno.

Sand Harbor did it for us. We spent a few hours just playing on the beach, in the sand and enjoying the beautiful views that we'd pictured Lake Tahoe to have.

My own personal marketing team :) on the tiny beach in town

This cutie gets me every time.

We pulled up the state park and paid a small fee to get in-- it was SO worth it! Incredible views (especially when the sun shone through the clouds) and there were only a handful of people there.

Every stick was covered in ladybugs. We had them all over us!

Finding sticks for the battle with his bro

The boys playing a game that involved killing each other in battle. When I say sand was everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE!

After looking through all of the photos it seems as though I had a full blown photo shoot with Cayenne. Believe it or not, these were all shot over about 10 minutes. She is just a ball of cuteness wrapped up in curiosity, attitude, sassiness and joy.

Cayenne was loving playing with the sticks in the water. Of course, I can't remember what she was calling the game but was cute. She would throw a big stick in the water and have a longer one to catch it as it came back to shore.

Niko's hair in the wind is hilarious.

Our drive back went right through these huge valleys of snow. We had to pull over as snow IS Reno's thing apparently. He immediately jumped out with all of his gear on, Cayenne followed so Daddy had to go, too. Niko and I stayed warm in the car. Little Miss lasted all of 5 seconds and Reno could've stayed all day.

See the snowball in the air?

Jumping for joy!

When he threw a snowball at the car window

Taking a bite of the snow-- I was just hoping it was clean snow.

Wanting to bring some home. Uh NO.

Taking advantage of the self-timer. Yay for a great family pic!
It was back to California for us as we were headed to Redding and Chico before moving on to the Redwoods.
