The Giving Tour: Project 150

While Vegas was challenging to find places to help we ended up finding Project 150 at the very last minute (as in 4 days before we left Vegas). It was an incredible organization and I couldn't be happier that we are able to highlight the work that they do.

The Giving Tour: Cookie Crew

Vegas was a challenge. I was determined to conquer it. I must have called 30 places in attempt to volunteer. We want to help! It came down to the kids and liability. In my mind I just keep thinking I'll sign a waiver (as I have so many times before) but that didn't work. Finally, we found The Ronald McDonald House of Las Vegas and we were so thankful.

Sedona

Our Little Miss calls Sedona, SEDONUT and it stuck. I don't know if I'll ever call it Sedona again. I think she was secretly hoping it was a town full of pink donuts.

Paige was in Page

It's not often you go to a place that has your namesake (they just spell it wrong).

We went, we saw and we conquered and all in one day. Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend were unexpected wonders. I'd never even heard of these places before we started this adventure. That's the cool part about researching everywhere we go, following other travelers on instagram and really just delving into a place to learn its ins and outs. It's exciting!

Grand Canyon... CHECK!

This was obviously a must-see on our journey.

It was beautiful. Beautiful and overcrowded quite honestly. The park ranger told us it was the busiest day of the year. The Wednesday after Christmas? Really?! Didn't see that one coming.

Nonetheless we got some great pictures, the kids earned another Junior Ranger badge, we hung out with a few deer and just took it all in. We had one full day to explore the Grand Canyon so we needed to make it a good one. Hope you enjoy this picture-heavy post.

Flagstaff, Arizona

We left Tucson and headed for Flagstaff, Arizona. It was a sad departure but we explained to the boys that we still have a LOT to see and many more adventures to be had.

Let me just start out with saying it was SO cold in Flagstaff. E banned all type of cold-weather RV-ing after that trip. It was slippery, wet, cold and just icky for the guy who hooks up everything. Thank you, babe! We couldn't even keep our hoses hooked up because they would freeze. We instead had to fill up our tanks and empty them during the day and then put them away when finished. Again, time consuming and hand-numbing for the guy who stands outside for the 30 or so minutes it takes to do all that business.

Tombstone

As you know, we love love love the V Family and our kids wanted nothing more than to spend every waking second with them. It was like pulling teeth every time we left the RV Park. So, when they asked us if we wanted to day trip to Tombstone, well... we were all about it! I think the kids might have all screamed with excitement in unison.

It was a lovely afternoon full of dirt roads, old saloons, ghost stories, souvenir shops, graveyards, cheesy gun-fighting shows and the border patrol. Sounds just lovely, doesn't it?
