La Brea Tar Pits

image VIA

How often does one get to visit the world's only active Ice Age excavation pit? I'd say it's a once in a lifetime kind of thing. We paid admission, toured the museum and went on the free (included with admission) excavation tour led by an extremely knowledgable staff member who gave us a blow by blow of what went down in these parts of LA over the last oh, 11,000 years.

This is what I call TROUBLE.

The Observation Pit

This is one of the coolest stories we heard. In 2006, La Brea Tar Pits was set to build an underground parking garage. Welllllll... that didn't happen. Instead Project 23 was born. When construction began workers ended up finding 16 new asphaltic fossil deposits that were then divided into 23 intact blocks and stored in large crates. Excavators work daily to chip away at these blocks and to preserve the fossils within them. Crazy, right?! Right in the middle of downtown LA!

There's so much more to explore!

    1. Don't worry Uncle Don! She's a rough and tough girl! Those were actual boo-boo's but half the time she puts band-aids on just because she likes them. She'll find the tiniest little mark on her to put a band-aid on.

It was definitely an interesting place! xoxox

  2. Soon most slot-machine factories relocated, especially to Chicago. Before 1992, slot machines had been only in casinos and small shops, but later slot golf equipment started appearing all over the the} country. The hottest and quite a few had been "Vulcan 777" and "Taj Mahal". Since 2009, when playing establishments had been banned, nearly all slot golf equipment disappeared and are found only in a specially approved 바카라 사이트 playing zones. Skill stop buttons predated the Bally electromechanical slot machines of the 1960s and Seventies.
